Question - Does the Atkins Diet Work?

The low carb Atkins diet is one of the most controversial diet plans ever, and the controversy is showing no signs of falling off. Amid the strange claims that people can lose huge amounts of weight through eating nothing but fatty protein laden meals, lots of questions emerge. Is the Atkins diet safe? How does the Atkins diet work? And the most important question: does the Atkins diet work at all? Although there is not universal agreement on many of these questions, it is still important to answer them. With the controversy over the safety of the Atkins diet meal plan, the most important thing is to do enough research to determine that it is the right diet plan for you before you even try it.

I am not an academic, and I am not asking doestheAtkinsdietwork for purely intellectual reasons. You see, I am a dieter myself. When I heard about the low carb diet, I was very excited. Although I do crave carbs, the wonderful results that people seem to be achieving with this diet plan made it worth checking out. Like a lot of people, I have had a lot of trouble losing weight and have become desperate in the fruitless search for solutions. Although I generally stay away from things that claim to be miracle cures, I have heard so much buzz about this diet that it was worth checking out. I even have a cousin who lost 20 pounds and claims that it is all because of the Atkins plan.

Does the Atkins Diet Work? - Answer

As far as I can tell, the answer to the questionsdoes the Atkins diet work is a resounding yes. The answers to the other questions, however, are a little bit trickier. I am not really that interested in how it works, but I am interested in whether or not it is dangerous. The problem is that there are so many people in the medical community who are paid money for sponsoring various programs, medications, or diet plans that it is often difficult to get good information. Like it or not, modern medicine has sold its soul to the devil. Nonetheless, there is enough evidence that the Atkins diet is dangerous that it might be worth trying another diet before going on this one. Some people say that it can even shutdown your liver and kidneys, a claim that have not been conclusively refuted.
